Imported vehicles to exit Port of Mombasa without number plates as country grapples with shortage

Vehicle dealers have welcomed the government’s decision allowing imported second hand vehicles to exit the Port of Mombasa without number plates as the country grapples with a shortage blamed on lack of raw materials. Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mombasa Chapter CEO James Kitavi says the directive has eased congestion at container freight stations that had been experienced for a month. Kitavi made remarks during the opening of Cheki Kenya offices in Mombasa.
