Injury sidelines Eugene Asike from Tusker FC, Harambee Stars

By KBC SportsDesk.

Current Sportpesa Premier League leaders Tusker FC will have to do without the services of Kenyan international Eugene Asike when they take on Ushuru FC in their next encounter at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.

The defender suffered an ankle injury in the match against Kakamega Homeboyz.

Head coach Paul Nkata has revealed that Asike is not fit for the weekend game and maybe out for a longer time.

The defender has had an MRI scan scheduled to check the extent of the injury before a presumptive date for his return can be communicated.

Nkata termed his absence a blow to the team’s title race.

The injury also saw Asike withdraw from the national team ahead of the friendly match against Uganda Cranes.
