KALRO to distribute GMO cassava seeds to farmers

Farmers in Kilifi and Busia counties have started planting GMO Cassava after the crop was given the green-light by the National Biosafety Authority. The farmers have received cassava seeds that has been developed by the Kenya Agricultural & Livestock Research Organization using modern biotechnology that is resistance to the cassava brown streak disease.
