Kamba leaders meet in Machakos to chart way forward

Political leaders and elders from the Kamba community are converging at the Komarock Primary school in Machakos County in a meeting largely seen as one that would determine Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s political future.

The meeting convened by former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama comes amidst open disquiet in the NASA camp Co-Principal Raila Odinga struck a working deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to Muthama the meeting will focus on national issues including   national unity and cohesion.

Preparation for the meeting began in earnest over the weekend with over 1,000 leaders expected to converge at the Komarock Primary school in Kathiani.

Kalonzo Musyoka appears isolated with ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford- Kenya Leader Moses Wetangula keen on forging Luhya unity and dissolving their parties to form one unit.

NASA Leader Raila Odinga on the other hand is working with President Uhuru Kenyatta to foster cohesion and bridge ethnic divisions occasioned by last year’s general election.

Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been advocating for the registration of NASA as a party but even so, his co-principals have been non- committal on the same.
