KBC’s Kevin Wachira elected KPJA Organising Secretary

Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) Senior Political Reporter Kevin Wachira has been elected the Kenya Parliamentary Journalists Association Organising Secretary (KPJA).

Wachira garnered 33 votes to edge Boniface Mwongela who had 32 votes in a tight contest.

He thanked the Association members for believing in him even as he lauded his opponent for a worthwhile contest.

Wachira vowed to champion the rights of Journalists covering Parliament proceedings especially during the COVID-19 period.

KTN Senior political reporter Duncan Khaemba was unanimously elected Chairman taking over from Moses Njagi.

TV47 News Anchor Elizabeth Mutuku beat Nation’s Samuel Owino to become the Association’s Vice Chairperson while Citizen TV Senior Reporter Chemtai Goin was elected Secretary General unopposed.

Julius Owino, Irene Mwangi and Christopher Nyamuta won their seats unopposed and will serve as Deputy Secretary, Treasurer and Liaison Committee Member respectively.
