Kenya Volleyball Federation has received a financial boost from Kenya Commercial Bank ahead of the national league playoffs that will be staged at Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani starting 22nd to 24th of this month.
The federation received a Ksh 1 million sponsorship for the playoffs.
“We are committed to deepening our support towards sports sponsorship in Kenya and across the region. We want to give sports fans an enhanced experience in line with our brand. KCB Bank is honoured to be associated with volleyball that has such a great history in our country. In our alignment to this, we have sponsored Ksh 1,000,000 towards the KCB National Volleyball League playoffs,” Said KCB Group Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Judith Sidi Odhiambo.
Also in attendance was Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Deputy President Charles Nyaberi who extended his gratitude to KCB for their unwavering support over the years and announced the transitioning to the new calendar with new officials.
KCB KVF National play-offs will be the culmination of the year-long League-and-Tournament circuit that has seen senior Club, institutional and self-supporting teams converge at venues located in most major towns in Kenya.
The top Team in each gender category will represent the country in the Africa Club Championships; the First Runners-up teams will represent Kenya in the Africa Cup of Cups Championships while the 2nd Runners-up will represent the country in the Africa Zone 5 Club Championships.
The 3 top Kenyan Clubs, Kenya Pipeline, KCB Kenya and Kenya Prisons plus the disbanded Telkom Kenya have dominated the African Club Championships for the last three decades ensuring that the Gold medal came to Kenya 75 per cent of the times.
