KCB Karen masters good for golf tourism

All is set for this year’s KCB Karen Masters golf tournament that tees off next week at Karen Country Club.

The eagerly anticipated event in the country’s sporting calendar is set to be a major golf tourism boost for the country according to KCB Group Marketing and Communications Director Angela Mwirigi.

“The KCB Karen Masters tournament has emerged as a vast tourism draw and source of revenue with economic and social impact for Kenya hence positioning us as a golf destination”, said Angela.

There will be over 100 global golfers jetting in for the event on Sunday seeking a unique experience at the tournament.

The KCB Karen masters envisage to be a successful and profitable niche tourism product for the country.

The prestigious event will kick off next week on Tuesday 17th at Karen Country Club with a pro-am tournament that will also be run on 18th July 2018, paving way for 4 days of pros competition.

Angela said, our greatest hope lies in our current pros in Kenya, we want them to sharpen their golf skills and be able to compete in international tournaments in future, our joy is seeing a Kenyan pro win an international event.

There will be great entertainment for the ardent golf fans and families from Tuesday- till Sunday at the village with tickets retailing at Ksh 500.

Families are encouraged to come on Sunday for more interactive sessions at the club.

The Bank recently launched the KCB Road to the Masters to give hundreds of golfers an opportunity to hone their golf skills and the thrill of playing with the international pros will be amazing for  local golfers.
