KCB ladies edge out Pipeline 3-1 in KVF league

KCB ladies edged out Kenya Pipeline by three sets to one in the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National League in Kitui on Friday.

KCB grabbed a win in the first set after two killer attacks from captain Noel Murambi winning 25-19.

Pipeline fought back to win the second set 21-25.

The third set ended 33-31 after a spirited fight from both teams on the court.

KCB Head Coach Japheth Munala has praised his squad for the carefully mapped-out strategy that saw KCB grab the away game victory.

“The players were composed and they gave their all in today’s game, beating Africa bronze champions Kenya Pipeline wasn’t an easy feat, we had to devise a  strategy that worked to our advantage”, said Munala.

KCB new signing Loreen Chebet was in form with 6 successive points that saw KCB command the game from the onset. With ten minutes to go KCB were leading 20-10.

Leonida Kasaya, Violet Makuto, Jemima Siangu, and setter Gladys Wairimu partnered well in the remaining moments to grab four points for the bankers as the game ended 25-13.

The Bankers earlier stunned Prisons to win the first set during the mid-morning league clash.
