National women rugby sevens team ‘Kenya Lionesses’ has intensified its training at RFUEA grounds Nairobi ahead of the Safari sevens event slated for this Friday.
The draw for the team’s matches will be unveiled tomorrow at the same venue.
With only two days remaining before the annual Safari sevens championship kicks off in Nairobi, national rugby women team ‘Kenya Lionesses’ has hit training under the tutelage of Kelvin Wambua.
The side will be using this event as a build-up to the upcoming HSBC Dubai sevens round where it has been invited to take part.
The team will be looking forward to a better performance that will see them claim the title at home and put high their hopes of emerging victorious in the Dubai sevens.
Twelve teams will be taking part in the Safari sevens event this year including Spain, Portugal, Namibia among others. During the 2016 edition, national men’s team Shujaa won the title after beating Samurai.
The women team did not make it to the finals. All matches will be aired live on KBC Channel One.
