Kenya Paralympics team bags six medals in IPC championships

The Kenya national Paralympics team has bagged six medals in the ongoing IPC athletics championships in Dubai.

Among the winners are; Samuel Muchai who won gold in the 5,000 metres T-11 event, finishing ahead of compatriot Wilson Bii who won the silver medal.

Nelly Nasimiyu won Kenya a silver in the 1500 metres T-12 class while Egla Mosop finished behind her to bag the bronze medal.

Meanwhile Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards defeated Division two side, Boma FC 4-0 in a friendly match played at the Marist Grounds last evening.

With the KPL taking a two-week break, Leopards has organized a series of friendly matches to work on the team’s weak areas and fitness.

Ingwe faces Nakuru Combined in another friendly match tomorrow at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

Leopards who are second in the Sportpesa premier league table with 11 points will play against Kakamega Homeboyz on 30th March after the two week break.

Elsewhere, the FKF National Super League match between Modern Coast Rangers and Zoo Kericho has been rescheduled for one day.

Initially scheduled to be staged at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club on Saturday 19/3/2016 the match will now be played the following day Sunday 20/3/2016 at the same venue due to the unavailability of the venue.

‘‘Due to unavailability of Mbaraki Stadium on Saturday 19’th March 2016, Match No. 1 between Modern Coast Rangers and Zoo Kericho has been rescheduled to Sunday 20’th March 2016 at KPA Mbaraki kick off 3:00 pm.’’ read part of the letter signed by FKF Secretary General Robert Muthomi.

Modern Coast Rangers Secretary Ferdinand Ogot confirmed entrance for the match will be free.
