Kenya, Somalia agree to reopen missions

Kenya and Somalia reconfirmed the need to expeditiously reopen their two respective Missions in Nairobi and Mogadishu.

Speaking on phone on Wednesday, Foreign Ministers Ambassador Raychelle Omamo and Mohamed Abdirizak Mahamud, emphasised the importance of normalising diplomatic relations between Kenya and Somalia.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two countries expressed a strong wish to improve trade, security and cultural relations.
They further agreed to keep bilateral diplomatic channels of communications open between the two Capitals in all matters of future diplomatic relations.
