Kenyan fans, artistes remember late E-Sir

On 16th of March 2018 the entertainment industry marked the 15th anniversary of one of the greatest Kenyan rappers Issah Mmari popularly known as E-Sir.

It has been 15 years after his death but his music and legacy still lives on as fans, fellow artistes and the entire music industry remembered him in different ways.

E-Sir passed on in 2003 in a grisly road accident on his way to Nairobi from Nakuru after a successful show in Nakuru.

Fellow musicians including nameless who survived the accident took to social media to remember him as a great musician, rapper and a legend.

TV shows also paid tribute to the memory of E-sir describing him as a phenomenon artiste.

E- sir who would be 37 years old this year died at the age of 21.

His songs however still have an impact in the industry for both fans and artistes. He will be remembered for revolutionizing the hip-hop industry in the country with his hit songs “Nimefika ‘Jo’”, “Saree”, “Bamba”, “Hamunitishi”, “Mos Mos”, “Kamata”, “Boomba Train” and “Leo ni Leo”.

His career will always be celebrated as a significant moment in the music industry for helping hip-hop gain recognition and admiration in the urban culture that was just beginning to take shape.

E-sir will forever be missed and his mark in the industry will never be erased.
