Kericho County Governor Paul Chepkwony has launched a fumigation exercise in major towns saying it will be carried out during the night when businesses have closed.
While launching the exercise, Chepkwony issued a stern warning to residents visiting illegal brew drinking dens and violating the social distancing requirement.
This comes as the county embarks on a fumigation exercise targeting towns and shopping centres in order to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus.
Authorities in the countries continue to step up efforts geared towards reducing the spread of the highly infectious Coronavirus.
In Kericho, the County Government has started to fumigate towns and trading centres where businesses are still operational.
This comes amidst concerns that residents are visiting premises where illegal alcohol is sold and social distancing is hardly observed.
Matatu operators in the County have also been warned against violating the directive on carrying a limited number of passengers to prevent the spread of the virus.
Elsewhere, Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja has joined other counties in launching a fumigation exercise in a bid to curb the deadly Coronavirus from spreading.
The fumigation exercise started at Voi town and will proceed to the other three Sub-Counties within the region.
The Sub-Counties are Mwatate, Voi and Wundanyi.
