Kiambu County starts zoning campaign

Kiambu County government has demarcated all zones in a move aimed at protecting the agricultural areas from being converted to real estate.

Speaking during the coffee fair in Kiambu County   the deputy governor Gerald Githinji says the special plan would secure land that will be impossible for the owners to subdivide and convert to commercial centers.

Kiambu County has come up with a new proposal that seeks to secure agricultural land  from being converted to real estate a move that is threatening food security in the area.

To achieve the objective the county government is working with all stakeholders to revamp the coffee sector which was once a flagship of the area.

Kiambu had been hailed as producing the best coffee and the county government wants to leverage on this.
