Killing of police constable Daniel Etyang takes a new twist

The Friday killing of a police officer at Ruaka by Flying Squad officers has taken a new twist with Teso North MP Dr Oku Kaunya saying he suspects foul play and urged the government’s investigative agencies to speed up investigations into the matter.

Kaunya who spoke to Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) in his office described the late Daniel Etyang as a highly disciplined police officer saying there could be other reasons behind the killing, and called for the immediate arrest of whoever is culpable.

Kaunya said already, the family of the slain officer has petitioned the Independent Policing and Oversight Authority, IPOA over the matter.

Administration Police Constable Etyang was shot dead along with his Uber driver last Friday as they visited a house occupied by two Nigerian Nationals in Ruaka.

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo is among Kenyans who took to the social media to express outrage over the killings.

Kabogo described the slain officer as a good man having served as his assistant for four years.
