Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia says his administration will not pay a single cent to contractors undertaking shoddy jobs in the County.
While regretting the condition of some roads in the County, Kimemia said some contractors have no choice but to re-do the work.
The Governor said he had formed a County Service Delivery Unit (SDU) that will be working closely with residents in ensuring that the various projects undertaken by the County are closely monitored.
Speaking during the induction of the recently sworn in Chief Officers, Kimemia said the County has purchased road construction equipment worth Ksh 500 million.
This, he said will go a long way in addressing the unending challenges of bad roads in the County as the equipment will be distributed across the five sub counties.
The County boss at the same time noted that his administration has received Ksh 350 million from the National Government to aid in the construction of collapsed bridges as well as rehabilitate some roads.
Nyandarua County Assembly Majority Leader Wambugu King’ori hailed the move noting that the assembly has a good working relationship with the Executive.
He said new Chief Officers will go a long way in helping the County achieve its transformative agenda.
