Kenya’s Erick Kiptanui and Caroline Kipkirui, will lead other Kenyans in this year’s Delhi Half Marathon set to be held on the 21st of next month.
Kiptanui who will be making his fourth appearance at the half marathon distance says his main target is to lower the course record of 59 minutes and 06 seconds set by Ethiopia’s Guye Adola in 2014.
The Kenyan will be joined by training partner Daniel Kipchumba and Alex Korio.
Kenya’s Caroline Kipkirui who finished third in the Ras Al-Khaimah in UAE, will be the athlete to beat in the women’s field.
Ethiopia’s Worknesh Degefa, will try to regain the title she won in 2016.
It will be the second time the two will be clashing after a memorable duel in the Prague Half Marathon in April.
Ethiopia’s Senbere Teferi, who has won World Championships medals on the track and cross country, will make her half marathon debut.
