Kirinyaga County Assembly has rejected the nomination of Dr Timothy Theuri Kabaiku as Health CEC saying he is unqualified for the position.

The vetting and appointment committee claims the nominee lacks the requisite experience to hold the position.

Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru will now have to nominate another person to fill the vacant position.

They however maintained that they will only confirm a qualified person for the position.

The MCAs argue that though the County health sector is in a crisis they would not be rushed to nominate a person who’s unqualified to hold the position and can’t solve the challenges facing the County.
