Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru will have to go back to the drawing board after the County Assembly for the second time in a row rejected the proposed 2020/2021 county budget.
The MCA’s in rejecting the memorandum by the governor, argued she had mutilated crucial allocations proposed by the county assembly.
During voting only one ward representative supported the governor’s memorandum while another abstained from voting.
The remaining six MCAs allied to the governor walked out of the County Assembly’s immediately the voting bell rang.
The governor said it would be very difficult to work with the budget as it is.
On Monday Waiguru is reported to have called the controller of budget, Senate and Jubilee party to intervene in the budget stalemate since county operations are grounding to a halt.
Elsewhere, a section of Transnzoia residents have started an initiative aimed at recalling the governor Patrick Khaemba.
The youth are accusing the governor of graft and poor leadership. They claim he has failed in his mandate and his administration clouded with corruption.
