Kitui residents to benefit from free urological surgery camp

182 patients are set to benefit from a free urological surgery camp being undertaken by Kenyatta National Hospital multidisciplinary team of medical specialists in Kitui County.

According to KNH twitter handle, at least 109 patients will undergo a prostate enlargement minimally invasive surgery (urethroplasty).

The doctors will also perform surgeries relating to urethral blockage on 73 others.

The three-day urological medical camp is being carried out in four hospitals: Kitui County Referral Hospital, Mwingi level 4 hospital, Mutomo Mission Hospital, and The Jordan Hospital.

These surgeries under normal circumstances cost Ksh 300,000 but the annual medical camp under the Kenya Association of Urological Surgeons (KAUS) umbrella body through their CSR initiative, has reached out to the less fortunate in the society and enrolled them for the free services.
