KNCHR urges authorities to classify intersex persons among the vulnerable in society

Kenya National Commission on Human Rights has petitioned relevant authorities to classify intersex persons among the vulnerable in society . Jackline Ingutia officer in charge Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, Western region says the intersex persons’ face a myriad of challenges including lack of formal education, employment opportunities and civil registration which is a violation of their rights. According to the 2019 national population census, Kisii county had 38 out of 1,524 intersex persons countrywide.
