K’Ogallo shift focus to Sportpesa league as Starlets shine in Morocco

After relinquishing the Top 8 Cup due to a 1 – 0 loss to Muhoroni Youth, Kogalo have shifted their attention to the Sportpesa Premier League.

Gor Mahia’s midfielder Ernest Wendo will miss tomorrow’s match with an injury but will be available for Kogalo’s match against their arch rivals AFC Leopards.

League leaders Tusker FC will need only two wins in the last four encounters to secure the 2016 Sportpesa Premier League title they last won in 2012, should Gor Mahia fail to beat Western Stima tomorrow.

Gor Mahia sits second on the log with 44 points having won 12, drawn 11 times and lost two games.

IN RABAT, MOROCCO, The National soccer team Harambee Starlets thrashed Moroccan side CAK Khenifra 6-1 in a friendly match played last evening.

Striker Neddy Atieno bagged a hat trick with Mary Kinuthia, Elizabeth Ambogo and Christine Nafula scoring a goal each.

The Starlets which is in Morocco for buildup matches ahead of Africa Women Cup of nations next month will undergo three training sessions tomorrow before returning home this Thursday.

The Kenyan soccer queens beat Wydad Casablanca 8-1 in their first friendly encounter on Saturday. The team coached by David Ouma will then face Cameroun on the 22 of this month and wrap up their preparations against Egypt later this month.

The team qualified for the Africa women Cup of nation’s finals on away goals rule after holding Algeria to a 3-3 aggregate draw in the qualifiers. They are in a tough Group ‘B’ alongside Mali, Ghana and defending champions Nigeria.
