The accident, which happened in Kibiko at around 10am, Monday morning was witnessed by stunned locals who saw the white Cessna fixed wing light aircraft crash into a maize plantation.
The plane’s only passengers, a trainee pilot and instructor sustained minor injuries.
The two were on a training run when the plane allegedly developed mechanical problems before going down, police said.
The two injured passengers were rescued from the damaged plane and airlifted by AMREF for medical attention and thereafter discharged.
The Cessna plane, reg. no 5Y-NNC showed damage on its landing gear and fuselage.
The Directorate of Civil Aviation (DCA) investigators are on the case.
