The Kenya rugby sevens national women’s team Lionesses have arrived in Chile ahead of the World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series in Santiago, Chile scheduled for 12th to 14th August 2022.
Judith Auma who will lead the squad in Chile said, “As we head out to Chile, our expectations are high. The coach has done his job and it is our turn to do our bit.”
The Lionesses are in Pool D and will begin their campaign with a clash against China on Friday 12 August 2022 at 9.01pm EAT before taking on continental rivals South Africa at 2.37am EAT on Saturday 13 August 2022.

They will wind up their pool play with a match against hosts Chile at 5.34pm EAT on Saturday 13 August 2022.
Some of the reliable players on the Kenyan side are speedsters Janet “Shebesh” Okello, who turns out for MIE Pearls in Japan, and team skipper Judith Auma from Impala Saracens.
The Kenyan queens participated in all Africa Women’s Sevens finals since 2014 before their bad showing in April this year in Jemmal, Tunisia where they finished fifth.
The Challenger Series serves as the qualification tournament for the 2022/23 World Rugby Sevens Series.
