Ken Chonga makes history as the first MP in the constituency to be re-elected.
Ken Chonga has made history by being the first Kilifi South MP to be re-elected into office in the constituency. Chonga garnered 24,300 votes out of the 44,620 votes cast. Kombe Sophie Kadzo was the runner’s-up with 7,383 votes, followed by Jobba Said Musa in third position with 6,239 votes.
Chonga was declared the winner by the Kilifi South constituency returning officer Jumaa Musa. In his victory speech, Chonga thanked area residents for re-electing him, saying they had demonstrated their trust in his leadership considering that the constituency has no history of re-electing Members of Parliament. He urged his opponents to now join him in ensuring that the needs of area residents are met.
