LSK President Nelson Havi arrested over assault allegations

Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has been arrested over assault accusations.

Havi, who is accused of assaulting CEO Mercy Wambua, was Tuesday arrested at their Gitanga road offices and whisked away to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices for questioning.

The LSK President however denies assaulting the CEO further claiming that she forced her way into the boardroom while they were having a meeting with the intention of recording the proceedings.

Wambua in the company of her lawyer Steve Ogolla on Monday recorded a statement at Muthangari Police Station under OB number 34/12/7/2021, before heading to the police surgeon at Aga Khan Hospital to obtain a P3 form.

In the statement, Wambua claimed that her right arm and finger were hurt during a scuffle that erupted during the heated council meeting which had been convened both physically and virtually.

She also claimed that when she sat down to oath the meeting, Havi charged at her slamming shut her laptop leading to her fingers being hurt.
