Magoha: Government ready to roll out community based learning

The Teachers Service Commission has completed the mapping out of teachers to be engaged in the Community Based Learning Program.

Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha in a statement said the education ministry is now ready to roll out the program across the country for both primary and secondary school learners.

The program is being conducted by the Ministry of Education in conjunction with the Teachers Service Commission and the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government.

Prof. Magoha clarified that teachers’ participation in the community-based learning program is not tied to the payment of their monthly salaries but urged those who have not enrolled in the program to join.

Community Based Learning is intended to engage learners in productive activities in order to acquire basic knowledge related to the pandemic and other practical skills as well as a means of engaging learners during the current period of COVID-19 pandemic.
