Kenya women’s volleyball team to leave for Japan

National volleyball ladies team Malkia Strikers is scheduled to leave the country tomorrow for Japan ahead of the World Volleyball championship slated for 29th this month to 20th next month.

This is the first time in eight years Malkia Strikers are taking part in the World Championship having qualified alongside African champions Cameroon after finishing second in the confederation of African Volleyball Women’s Championship in October, last year.

The Japheth Munala charges have been grouped in pool ‘D’ and will face Kazakhstan in their first match before confronting Serbia.

They will then face Puerto Rico, defending champions Brazil and Dominican Republic.

Twenty four teams will be taking part in this championship with the top four sides from each pool advancing to the second round.
