Man stabs wife to death, commits suicide over alleged domestic row in Nyandarua

Shock has gripped Ex Ndeiya village in Lower Shamata, Nyandarua County after a man stabbed his wife to death before committing suicide.

Antony Nganga, 41 killed his 35 year old wife Wairimu Njeri on Monday morning following a domestic row.

According to neighbours, the husband, a father of two used an axe to stab her on the neck.

He had also used a kitchen knife to stab her on the back.

Mr James Mwangi, a neighbor said that they heard cries from their two children and rushed to the home.

He noted that it was upon searching for the husband that they found his body dangling from a tree within the compound.

He said that the couple has for sometime been involved in domestic quarrels and efforts by neighbor to reconcile them have been in futility.

Nyandarua North Sub County deputy police commander Paul Saitoti who visited the scene said that investigations had been launched to establish what exactly happened.

He said that the bodies of the two had been moved to Nyahururu county referral hospital mortuary.

Nyandarua Woman MP Faith Gitau has since condemned the incident calling for parents to use alternative methods to solve disputes.
