Mandera residents accuse County Government of eviction plan

Residents of Maykorebi and Ariley Neboi Location in Mandera County have accused the County Government of planning to evict them without notice.

This after the County Government earmarked their piece of land for the construction of the public university

The residents are now accusing the County Government of attempting to forcefully remove them from their homes and land where they have lived for more than 30 years.

They claim the County Government has a different agenda with the piece of land saying they will defend it at any cost and called on the county to register the land for them .

This even as Mandera CEC for Land Adan Hussein dismissed the allegations saying only a small piece of the land will be used for the construction.

Hussein said a survey is ongoing and assured the residents they will be allocated enough land once it’s complete.
