Mandera residents have been advised to go for the free COVID-19 booster shot which offers extended protection from the virus

Speaking during a press briefing, Governor Ali Roba asked residents to voluntarily go for the jab saying all county government staff have been vaccinated against the killer disease.

Roba said the jab will boost their immunity against COVID-19 saying the booster shots are now available at the all the sub-county hospitals free of charge.

Mandera lies between Somalia and Ethiopia with the two countries having fragile medical facilities.

The mandera county Government is doing all to curb the spread of the virus by putting in place stringent measures from educating the public on the dangers of COVID-19, free testing to management of COVID patients at no cost as well as mass vaccination against the virus, and now the booster shots among others
