CS Matiang'i snubs MPs contraband sugar probe again

Interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i has issued a stern warning to politicians suspected of fueling ethnic animosity in Isiolo and the neighboring counties.

Matiang’i who was on a tour of Isiolo said the government will not watch as leaders incite Kenyans against each other for selfish gains.

Matiang’i who was meeting top security officials in Isiolo county said investigations into the incident that led to the killing of 4 young people on Tuesday were in top gear.

The CS noted that Kenyans had freedom of movement, hence those found culpable of incitement would not be spared.

Matiang’i added that the County was prone to insecurity due to an influx of aliens on transit to other destinations, and that several them were already in police custody.

While on a tour of Lamu Matiangi assured local residents that the government will address all their grievances and injustices in due time.

Some of the locals lamented that accessing crucial services such as P3 forms was an uphill task, whereas getting justice was nearly impossible.

The CS directed Coast Regional Commissioner John Elungata to convene a public baraza to hear the grievances of the people and have them addressed.
