Matiang’i,Omamo refute KDF rigging claims

NASA coalition leaders armed with a litany of documents sensationally claimed the presence of a well-orchestrated by the government to use the military (KDF) to rig the August poll.

While the KDF through their spokesman admitted the documents were authentic, it was quick to note that the documents were quoted out of context.

But a visibly charged Defence Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo and her Interior counterpart Fred Matiang’i while speaking from the lakeside city of Kisumu termed the allegations by NASA as unfounded.

The duo instead says KDF is only executing its mandate in securing the August polls as provided for by the law.

The two ministers also assured the country that the military remains apolitical as the country gears towards the August polls.

Jubilee allied leaders in parts of the country equally expressed fury over NASA’s claims.

Be as it may, the role of the military in the coming elections will no doubt be a subject of close scrutiny with only nine days remaining, with the judiciary set to make its pronouncement over the matter this Monday.
