Men’s Basketball team stun Tunisia to progress to semis

National Men’s basketball team ‘Kenya Morans’ stunned Tunisia 82-76 in overtime to book their semi-final spot in the inaugural AfroCan basketball championship

Denmark based forward Tylor Okari, Tom Wamukota, and Griffin Ligare led Kenya’s onslaught as the national team booked a slot in the last four.

Tunisia won the first quarter 20-19 before bagging the second 16-14 to send the match into the breather the North Africans leading 36-33.

After resumption a resilient ‘Kenya Morans’ put up a brave fight to win the third quarter 20-10 but lost the fourth quarter 22-15.

In overtime, the Cliff Owuor charges won 14-8 to register a historic 82-76 point’s win over powerhouse Tunisia.   

In the second semi-final, the Democratic Republic of Congo will face Angola.  

Kenya won the Zone 5 qualifiers in Uganda to book their ticket to the continental showpiece.

Kenya will play Morocco at the Palais des Sports Salamatou Maiga Arena in Bamako, Mali.
