Migori Governor Okoth Obado admitted at KNH

Remanded Migori Governor, Okoth Obado, is admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after he fell ill while at the Industrial Area Remand Prison.

The Migori governor has been in remand since last week when he was charged with the murder of Rongo University student, Sharon Otieno, before he was rushed to hospital last night.

On Thursday, September 27, High Court judge Jessie Lessit ruled that Governor Obado be detained until Monday next week when his bail application will be heard together with that of his co-accused personal assistant Peter Oyamo.

His admission to hospital comes day after the government denied allegations that the Migori governor is being given VIP treatment at the Industrial Area Remand Prison.

In a statement sent to newsrooms on Monday, Prisons Commissioner General, Isaiah Osugo said Governor Obado is being treated like any other inmate awaiting trial.
