Mixed reactions as Kakamega gubernatorial elections postponed

The two main contenders for the Kakamega gubernatorial seat are divided over the move by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to postpone for the second time elections in the region. The Azimio la Umoja candidate Fernandes Barasa has termed the decision as unconstitutional saying he will seek legal redress while the Kenya Kwanza candidate Cleophus Malala has backed the move by IEBC. Residents of kakamega held demonstrations to protest the move.
