Mixed results for Kenya’s Shujaa in Las Vegas

Next match will be this evening at 11:36pm against Fiji

The national Rugby sevens team, Shujaa, registered mixed results at the ongoing Las Vegas Sevens, the 5th stop on the 2017/18 IRB Sevens Circuit.

Kenya beat Russia 19-12 in group A opener before falling narrowly 19-14 to France.

The innocent Simiyu led charges must now beat Fiji in their last pool match to stay in the race for a third main cup quarter final appearance.

After the two games, Shujaa is placed 4th on the log on 4 points, 2 adrift of leaders Fiji who kept intact their 100 percent record in the leg by humiliating Russia 38-0, having earlier thumped France 33-5. France and Russia are ranked third and fourth respectively.

After a dawdling start Kenya has gathered pace along the way, reaching the main cup quarter finals twice on the trot in two previous legs in Hamilton and Sydney.

After 4 rounds Kenya lies 8th on the log with 35 points,42 points behind series leaders and Las Vegas defending champions South Africa.
