Mother in Murang’a appeals for prosthetic arms for son

    Meet Cyprian Wekesa Makali, a three and half year-old boy who was born without arms but has a great zeal in writing.

    Cyprian comes from Marewa shopping center of Kiharu Constituency the mother Beverline Nasimiyu narrates how she was thrown out of her matrimonial home after she gave birth to the boy, with her father-in-law terming the boy as a curse in the family.

    After she was thrown out, she left the young Cyprian with her maternal mother at her home in Mukhoholo village of Malakisi division in Bungoma County, and started looking for casual jobs in the area and outside the County.

    Her mother was taken ill last year and Beverline had no choice than to pick his son and live with him at this place where she works.

    She terms her son as a blessing in her life and one who keeps her company whenever she is not at work.

    However, Beverline is a worried mother having the son attain the school going age but he worries who will be taking care of him the way she does.

    Despite the boy having a great zeal of writing, he cannot do so. The mother has been taking care of the boy whenever he wants to go to the toilet or when he can’t feed himself.

    The mother is appealing to any well-wisher who can assist her son get prosthetic arms so as to enable him attend school.

    She also wishes if she can secure a job in an environment that his son cannot mix anymore with people who are consuming alcohol due to his tender age. However, the boy has been a very good footballer and he loves playing around.
