Joseph Irungu, the prime suspect in the murder of 28 year old Monica Kimani, is set to formally plead to the murder charge on Tuesday.
Detectives are rushing against time to compile all evidence linking Irungu popularly known as Jowie to the gruesome killing at an apartment in the city’s Kilimani estate.
After spending ten days in custody to allow detectives collect evidence linking him to the murder of Monica Kimani in her apartment in Lumiria Gardens in Kilimani area, Irungu will be presented in court to take a plea to the murder charges on Tuesday.
Detectives have already finalized collecting evidence including samples of DNA found on the scene.
The other crucial piece of evidence is CCTV footage obtained from the scene of crime with forensic experts analyzing every detail to ensure the case is watertight against perpetrators of the gruesome killing.
Irungu alias Jowie, Journalist Jackie Maribe and their neighbour at Royal Park Estate in Lang’ata, Brian Kasaine are all in police custody in connection with the incident .
The deceased was found murdered and her body left in her bathtub on September 29.
