Nairobi Film Fest begins on Wednesday

The NBO Festival hopes to inspire hope and healing through art.

Starting today, and for the next 10 days, you can look forward to discovering the best of Kenyan film, thanks to the Nairobi Film Fest. Within Kenya and across the diaspora, our shared voices and experiences as Kenyans through film, music, art and technology bring us closer together. Across the global community, our voices inform industry policies and practices that ensure inclusive and accurate representation of members of Kenyan and African diaspora communities. That’s exactly why NBO Film Fest exists.

2019 is the last time we enjoyed the film festival so 2021’s fest makes for its fourth anniversary. This year’s is a hybrid programme of in-person and online events. As a festival-goer, you can look forward to engaging with  filmmakers, actors, media and industry professionals to celebrate cinema over the course of 10 days.

This year’s programme of films will include The Letter, The Nest Collective’s new time-hopping feature film, The More Things Change, Boxed, Binti, You will die at 20, Tap! and Philippe Lacôte’s surreal epic, Night of Kings.

Find out how to participate here.
