Nakuru county supports Azimio la Umoja movement,MP says

Nakuru West Member of Parliament Samuel Arama has disclosed that Nakuru county is solidly behind Azimio la Umoja and area residents will rally behind former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Presidential candidacy in the upcoming polls.

The vocal lawmaker was categorical that the country is headed in the right direction under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Odinga further adding that the initiative is the only way to ensure a united and peaceful nation.

“When Azimio brigade was here a week ago you all saw the kind of overwhelming reception they got.Entire Nakuru county except for maybe Kuresoi South is behind this noble cause meant to unite the country and spur development growth in every part of Kenya. Those opposed to it don’t mean well for us and their retrogressive ideas should be rejected” he said.

Last week on Sunday,Odinga took his Azimio campaigns to Nakuru with a promise that fertilizer prices will come down in the next few weeks.

Raila reiterated his plans for smart agriculture and value addition, adding that he would increase the network of roads and electricity connectivity should he form the next government.

“We will fight corruption, which is the greatest enemy of Kenyans. We will do this not only among the top government officials, but also at the lower levels,” the ODM leader said

Arama who is serving his second term remains optimistic of securing re-election in the August 9 elections.

“My track record speaks itself and I urge my opponents to brace for a mouth-watering battle.I have done alot in terms of initiating development projects for my constituents. In education we have given bursaries to every needy student unselectively without considering tribe, political affiliation, etc. We will continue building on this foundation to deliver more past 2022” he confidently stated.

Arama was elected on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket in 2013 but shifted his political allegiance to the ruling administration Jubilee coalition during 2017 exercise.
