NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga hasn’t appointed lawyers or filed responses to a contempt of court petition filed at the Supreme Court.

Supreme Court Deputy Registrar Daniel Ole Keiuwa has on Friday told Jubilee party lawyer Tom Macharia that Raila and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka have not appointed lawyers to represent them in the case.

The two have also not filed their responses even after they were served with the petition.

The matter has now been referred back to Chief Justice David Maraga with Macharia saying he expects the matter to come up for mention ion Monday.

Jubilee wants Raila and Kalonzo held for contempt of the Supreme Court ruling directing IEBC to conduct a fresh Presidential election, for withdrawing from participating in the same.

Raila asked his supporters to boycott the Thursday’s Presidential election, with a majority of them from Kisumu, Siaya, Migori and Homa bay Counties heading his call.

IEBC has however rescheduled election in the respective Counties to Saturday 28th October.

Maraga is expected to form a bench to hear the matter next week.
