The pan-African film podcast discusses African films relating to African culture.
The first episode of the pan-African film podcast just aired a couple of days ago and it was interview with film director Ekwa Msangi. There can never be enough African stories that are told authentically by us. This new podcast is just another feather to our story-telling hat.
The pan-African podcast is a platform for constructive discussions about stories relating to all African cultures, across the continent and in the diaspora. There is a lot of focus on telling “our stories” and many of us have been raised without images that we can relate to. We now have thousands of stories, many of them stuck on the shelf and if you missed that film festival or screening or never heard about that film… well that could be it. This new podcast will be a platform you can always visit to discuss our films.
Musician, artist and radio presenter Nazizi Hirji hosts the podcast alongside film director Anna Marano. In each episode, the hosts will host a filmmaker and engage them in conversation in whatever film they have been involved in. Ekwa Msangi, writer and director of the award-winning and critically acclaimed feature film, Farewell Amor, is the first guest of the podcast. In the first episode, they discuss the topics of religion, family, love and relationships.
