New NCCK boss takes over

Reverend Chris Kinyanjui Kamau has officially been inducted as the secretary-general of the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) taking over from Canon Peter Karanja.

Kamau’s installation comes after weeks of acrimony between the clergy who differed on the election results.

He takes over as NCCK secretary-general from the 1st of October 2019.

In his inaugural speech, Kamau pleaded for prayers, support and cooperation from the NCCK fraternity saying he is committed to improving the council’s status income-generating activities.

The clergy, led by the outgoing boss Canon Peter Karanja who served for 12 Years since 13th September 2007 urged Kamau to focus on uniting the faithful through Biblical Theology.

Karanja will be remembered for his clarion call for peace.
