Police in Eldoret have arrested the prime suspect in the murder gay activist Edwin Chiloba.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) the suspect was a close friend to the deceased and works as a freelance photographer in Nairobi.
Uasin Gishu DCI boss Peter Kimulwo noted that Chiloba brutally killed in cold blood and his body wrapped in a metal box placed by the roadside in Kipkaren area on January 3.
Kimulwo says there is a likelihood that the deceased was killed in his apartment in Kimumu area.
“We suspect the noise heard earlier by the neighbours was the time the deceased was killed,” Kimulwo stated
Police will continue holding the suspect in custody as they seek to establish the motive for the murder.
Chiloba had moved to Eldoret from Nairobi in 2019 to study fashion design.
