Former First Secretary at the Venezuelan Embassy, Dwight Sagaray and three others have been found guilty of the murder of the late Venezuelan envoy Olga Fonseca.

In a judgement delivered by Justice Roselyn Korir, the court established common intention as well as malice forethought for the murder of the late Fonseca.

Fonseca was found murdered in her Runda residence in Nairobi on on the July 26, 2012.

A Nairobi High Court found the former First Secretary at the Venezuelan Embassy Dwight Sagaray and Ahmed Omindo, Alex Sifuna Wanyonyi and Moses Kiprotich Kalya guilty of murder.

In a judgment delivered by justice Roselyn Korir, the court established from evidence given by 37 prosecution witness and 39 exhibits that Sagaray was an accessory to the murder with a motive after establishing malice forethought through the hand of Mohammed Hassan who is still at large.

Ahmed Omindo, Alex Sifuna Wanyonyi and Moses Kiprotich Kalya were found to have participated in a meeting in which a plot to kill the late Olga was hatched and failed to report it.

The court has further ordered the arrest and trial of Mohammed who was mentioned severally in the case and still remains at large 10 years later. Sentence hearing is scheduled for February 16th and 17th as they are remanded at Industrial Prison.

Meanwhile the proprietor of Porkies Club Paul Wanaina Boiyo alias Sheki and five of his employees have a case to answer in the murder of the late former Juja Member of Parliament George Thuo 10 years ago.

In a ruling delivered by Justice Roselyn Korir, the court says the prosecution established a prima facie case and each has a case to answer and have been put on their defense.

The five others include Christopher Lumbazio Andika alias Lumba, DJs Andrew Karanja Wainaina, Samuel Kuria Ngugi alias Visi, Esther Ndinda Mulinge, a waiter, and club patron Ruth Watahi Irungu alias Atlanta.

30 witnesses and 10 exhibits were produced during the hearing of the case.

Thuo collapsed and died at a Thika pub on November 17, 2013.

Defence hearing begins on the February 14, 2023.
