The proverbial 40 days came calling for two robbery with violence suspects after they were arrested in Nyakach, Kisumu County.
Stolen goods whose value is yet to be established were also recovered.
Also recovered from the suspects’ hideout were 16 litres of local chang’aa brew and a stone of bhang.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations says the two, Moses Adhiambo alias Olaa and Calvin Ochieng were smoked out of their hideout in Kamiyoro village, after detectives linked them to a series of robberies in Kisumu city and its environs.
Their arrest followed a robbery incident where two residents were attacked and beaten senselessly by a gang of four who later ransacked their house making away with their TV sets, music systems, mobile phones and other electronic goods. Detectives based at DCI Nyakach immediately launched investigations into the incident leading to the arrest of the two.
Their two other accomplices fled the scene.
Detectives are pursuing the two suspects who escaped as their accomplices who are in custody assist police with investigations.
