Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has said that the Azimio
la Umoja One Kenya Coalition scheduled rally at the Jacaranda Grounds in
Nairobi will be peaceful.
Through his Social Media pages also stated that police officers have agreed to provide security in Sunday’s rally dubbed ‘No Handshake’.
“Today will hold a peaceful rally at Jacaranda Grounds. Police have agreed to provide security,” said the Embakasi East legislator.
According to leaders allied to Azimio leader Raila Odinga, the Jacaranda meeting is part of a series of consultations planned across the country as they seek consensus on solutions to problems facing Kenyans.
Speaking during the burial ceremony of Prof. Alex Nyabera Magoha, the younger brother to the late former Education CS Magoha in Siaya on Saturday, DAP leader Eugene Wamalwa said the Azimio rally slated for S will be a peacefully consultation with Azimio supporters and not a demonstration as claimed by its political opponents.
Wamalwa said the consultations will move to other parts of the country as the opposition seeks views from Kenyans on how well to address problems facing the country.
The DAP party leader used the platform to also set the record straight on the planned Azimio One Kenya Coalition rally slated for Sunday at jacaranda grounds in Nairobi.
Wamalwa insisted that the planned consultations with their supporters would go on peacefully and told-off their political opponents to stop fanning fear.
