President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Tuesday held a meeting with a section of MPs from Nyanza as a follow-up to his recent tour of the region.
Kisumu County Senator Prof. Tom Ojienda and Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo are among the nine lawmakers who attended the meeting that was held at State House, Nairobi.
“The leaders explored a mechanism of working together to address national and county issues” said a statement issued by the Presidential Communication Service.
The meeting comes at a time Azimio leader Raila Odinga has lined up a series of public engagement rallies in a number of counties maintaining that his victory was stolen during the August 9 polls.
Interior CS Prof. Kithure Kindiki Monday issued a stern warning saying conveners of the rallies are free to hold them on condition they do not break the law.
“The day they will try to break the law, to breach peace, to incite public disorder, that is the day the full weight of the Ministry of Interior will come on them,” warned Kindiki.
The meeting at State House it would appear caught the attention of the ODM party at a thunderous speed.
“We want to inform our members & supporters that our quest for restoration of our stolen victory & provision of good leadership to Kenyans will not be deterred by carrot dangling & dishing of handouts to our elected leaders. The Movement is unstoppable. Let’s meet in Mavoko, Friday,” the ODM party was quick to react in a statement.
