The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has moved in to secure sacco/company portal which has suffered frequent breaches leading to illegal release of impounded vehicles.
The transport authority says sacco/company administrators will now be required to submit their phone numbers which will be used to access the portal using a code sent on lines as a security measure.
“A third level security measure has been implemented to increase the portal security. This will require the portal administrators to prove and SMS code before they login to their portals,” NTSA said in a letter to Public Service Vehicles officials dated December 10, 2021.
The authority says there have been complaints and concerns regarding intrusion of the portal resulting to illegal release of motor vehicles, drivers and conductors in the NTSA road service license portals.
Sacco and company officials responsible for accessing the portal are now required to submit their phone number with the authority before December 17, 2021.
